Overheard...

I had an absolutely terrific time working on the bridge on Saturday. Truth be told, I was sore, but again it was so fun and gratifying!

Our Volunteer Trails Program

Information on Friends of Forest Park's Volunteer Trails Program.

Friends of Forest Park has long had an active crew of volunteers working the trails of Forest Park. For over 10 years, Marshall Miller and his Willy Weed Wackers have been hard at work erasing the evidence of winter storms. In 2007, we started a new tradition of offering regular events for members, Forest Park users, and other volunteer enthusiasts.

A typical day involves some routine maintenance, along with small construction projects: building bridges, installing culverts and/or turnpikes, etc. We always have refreshments on hand and raffle off a few prizes (including a free pair of KEEN shoes) at the end of each event.
