Information on hiking and running in Forest Park.

Forest Park’s extensive system of trails, Lisa Shannonfirelanes and roads provide excellent opportunities for hiking, walking, running, and simply escaping the urban atmosphere. See Forest Park Maps for the complete trail network, as well as location of biking and equestrian trails and parking. Or contact us to receive a map or to purchase One City's Wilderness by Marcy Houle, containing extensive descriptions of Park hikes, flora, and fauna. Maps are also available at Audubon House, Lower Macleay Field House, and Hoyt Arboretum.

The 30 mile Wildwood Trail is part of the region’s 40-Mile Loop system that links Forest Park to pedestrian and trail routes.  The system runs along the Columbia River to Gresham, to Southeast Portland, along the Willamette Greenway, and back to the Marquam Trail in Southwest Portland.

A number of  suggested loops may be viewed on our Hiking & Running Guide to Forest Park: 10-map set.
